The Oddyssey

Tonight I went to see my cousin, David Andrew Brent, present his standup extravaganza at Second City. While all the standups, especially Brent and Rodney Ramsey, killed, the show started late and ran long. So long that I had to take the subway instead of the GO Bus up north, and after 12:30 the Yonge line turns back south at Eglinton and a bus has to take you north to Finch. After the much too long bus ride, I have to take a cab from Yonge and Finch to 16th and Kennedy, a journey costing $45. It's 2:30 and I have to be up for work at 4:30. Huzzah

(Not exactly a compelling narrative full of rich detail, such as the conversation with the cab driver, the drunken Irishmen on the bus, the Edward James Olmos in Blade Runner-lookalike losing it on the subway when they made the line stoppage announcement, etc etc, but I'm tired. Besides, I'm not a raconteur, I deal in concepts.)

Phase One

Here we are, the very first entry of a blog I didn't even know I was creating. I really just wanted to sign in to comment on another blog. So, mayhaps I will have to find a purpose for this, since I want to lay claim to the name The Time Police.

Yes, it's a Doctor Who allusion, but not a reference, to the best of my knowledge.

Well, that's all I have time for before dinner is ready. It's roast beef.
